Relaxed family photoshoot

It was a beautiful Spring day when I met Lisanne (green dress) and her family in Nijkerk for their photoshoot. Lisanne heard about me through a mutual friend, and loved the photos I did for them. She was on a little weekend getaway with her entire family, and wanted to capture the moment.

This was 2021 and in the height of the 2nd wave of Covid-19 in The Netherlands. Restrictions were being lifted a little bit, and I noticed that a lot of people were booking photoshoots. Especially family photoshoots.

The thing is, I think through Covid, we have all come to realize that life is fragile, and moments like these with family is absolutely precious. Not the perfect “smile into the camera” moments. But the ones with stolen glances and big hugs and kisses. I’ve started to appreciate my work and the impact it has on families so much more.

Needles to say, this photoshoot was relaxed as can be. The kids were playing throughout, and the whole thing just felt like a fun get-together. I felt so at home with this close-knit family.
