Ah 2021. The year we thought Covid would be over. Turns out it was the year of just YOLO’ing to the max, while also feeling immensely guilty for having fun at the same time. This is probably the best way I can describe my trip to Crete for Grace and Ben’s wedding.

This would be my first time in Greece (or the “islands” as well-travelled folks call it) and I had no idea what to expect. I’ve also heard mixed reviews about Crete, so expectations were non-existent.

Lucky for me, some of my closest friends also went to Crete at the same time. So after a 2am wake-up call, 5 am flight and 1 hour of trekking through a 32 degree Chania to find my hotel, I managed to cry and laugh when I saw their faces.

We spent the first day in Chania, and then headed to Spilia for the wedding the next day. I was so awestruck by the beauty and vibrant colors of Chania, my camera’s were doing over time with all the pictures I was taking. Did I also mention that there are many, MANY cats on the island? The dream is alive people. And it’s in Crete.

It’s also worth mentioning that the food is so fresh and tasty and there are some beautifully rural spot where you can get a feel of Greek traditions and culture.

101/10, would go again.
