It was a beautiful Spring day when I met the Engels family for their photoshoot. We decided on a very unique location: the Polderheuvel in Amsterdam West. This is a location I’ve grown to love during Covid but also for its free parking and wide expanse. A great chance to give my camera’s a break from the busy city streets…and the 90% likelihood of being run over by an angry cyclist.

They were also the winners of my Mother’s Day photoshoot giveaway, so this was an extra special place for the whole family to be together.

I love that this family was just absolutely natural and themselves during the shoot. We didn’t do any traditional “look into the camera and smile” group shots. And the kids has free reign to run and play as they wanted. I just love how free and relaxed the photos are!

Also, I would like to urge all families to have their kids dress up in their favorite animal / Hogwarts house for the photoshoot (which these kids did!). We had a quick wardrobe change halfway through, but I just love how their outfits resemble their personalities.
