Amsterdam portrait photographer – Making stuff, being cool and fairy lights!

Creating is a drug. A very safe, medically approved, totally worth it drug that hits its peak like gentle waves in the ocean. Imagine you’re a novice surfer and you just managed to not fall with a spread-eagled belly flop into the ocean. The rush! The exhiliration! I must try it again immediately otherwise my life will mean nothing!

To me, that’s exactly what it feels like when I’m shooting and everything starts coming together. Its like I’m standing on the surfboard and falling off isn’t even an option. I look like a gravity-defying goddes riding the tide with fishes and dolphins jumping all around me (also, cue the water canons). I surf all the way to the beach where the board just magically stops and I hop off, giving a thumbs up to the cheering crowd (which includes Obama, MacGuyver, my parents and the whole photography community – because obvi every photographer surfs). Ah, drugs.

But seriously though, I really like photography because it gives me the opportunity to create things, to stretch my mind and make something pretty. Pretty awesome. So here are a few shots from a recent free-wheeling portrait shoot I did on the fly. Thanks to Elvira for the beautiful make-up and Nuno for cool ideas!
